MORE THAN JUST A PIECE OF FURNITURE

Where function, natural forms and distinctive craftsmanship come together.
A piece of furniture

FURNITURE WITH ITS OWN CHARACTER
Not designed to blend into the décor.
Pimpan’s furniture art does not stem from a fixed design on paper. The material is the starting point. An irregular wood grain, an unexpected shape or a piece of material that others might overlook can be the beginning of a new object.
Pimpan observes, experiments, tries things out and builds on what is already there. This results in furniture that is functional, yet at the same time has the appearance of a standalone work of art.
No cookie-cutter replicas. No mass production. Just furniture with character, made to be seen and used.
I don’t make what it
It must be wood.
I’ll see what it turns out to be.
“As far as I’m concerned, a piece of furniture doesn’t have to be perfect. It has to move you.”
FROM MATERIAL TO OBJECT
Form begins where the material speaks.
Wood bearing traces of a past life. Grapevine trunks shaped over the years by the sun and the earth. Pallets, metal and other materials that have lost their original purpose.
For Pimpan, these aren’t waste materials, but opportunities.
He searches for forms that are already hidden within the material and combines them with his own ideas and techniques. Sometimes this results in a table. Sometimes a piece of occasional furniture. And sometimes something for which there is actually no existing category.
It is precisely there, somewhere between a piece of furniture and a work of art, that Pimpan feels most at home.
Sometimes I only realise .
what it will be like when I .
I’ve already started
NO TWO ARE THE SAME
A piece of furniture that nobody else has.
The material’s natural shapes, grain, cracks and signs of wear all help to determine the final design. As a result, Pimpan is unable – and does not wish – to reproduce his work exactly.
What might be seen as a flaw in traditional furniture-making is, in fact, part of its character here.
You are therefore not bringing a piece of furniture from a production line into your home, but an individual item that has been crafted by hand — with care for the material and without stripping away its original character.
Perfection. .
you can copy it.
Not a character.
