Alma Salvaje It is not a lamp that blends in neatly with an interior. It is a unique lighting piece that demands its own space.
The base of this handmade table lamp is made from an old grapevine from Villarrobledo, Spain. The irregular wood has not been smoothed down or forced into a pre-determined shape. It is precisely the natural forms, openings, knots and unexpected lines that have been preserved and which define the character of the design.
Pimpan has hand-carved the grapevine wood and finished it with varnish, which enhances the deep brown and black tones and makes the surface appear to come to life differently depending on the light. Nestled amongst the organic forms is a large amber-coloured light source. The particularly warm light from 1800K It contrasts beautifully with the dark wood and highlights the rough texture of the artwork.
The base is also an integral part of the design. It is made from a single piece of tree trunk and finished with metal plates that Pimpan shaped himself and attached to the wood. The combination of wood, metal, rope and light gives Alma Salvaje its robust, almost sculptural appearance.
The lamp looks different from every angle. Whilst on one side you mainly see the powerful vertical form of the grapevine wood, from another angle open structures and almost figurative shapes emerge. That is precisely the essence of Alma Salvaje: nature provided the basis; Pimpan saw what lay hidden within it and turned it into a functional work of art.
Alma Salvaje is entirely handmade and is a one-off piece. So you’re not just buying a light fitting, but an original work of art from Villarrobledo with its own history, form and character.

Instant atmosphere and character
During the day, Alma Salvaje is a sculpture in which you continually discover new shapes and textures. As soon as the light comes on, its character changes. The warm, amber-coloured light finds its way along the dark grapevine wood and through the natural openings, creating depth, shadow and lustre.
Place Alma Salvaje on a sideboard, side table, low cabinet or freestanding piece of furniture where the artwork can be viewed from multiple angles. Precisely because every side is different, this lamp never ceases to surprise.
For an interior that doesn’t have to be perfect, but personality, warmth and a touch of wild beauty may have.
